DETROIT, MI — Sky Covington’s Preservation of Jazz returns to Aretha’s Jazz Café at Music Hall on Thursday, November 5, 2026, with a special Frankie Beverly & Maze Encore Tribute, featuring Rodney Humphrey and Friends and hosted by Detroit comedian and entertainer Mike Bonner.

Following the spirit of the music that has brought generations together, this encore celebration will honor the timeless sound and legacy of Frankie Beverly & Maze — music built around love, joy, community, relationships and unforgettable grooves.

Audiences can expect an evening filled with the warmth and soul that made the music of Frankie Beverly & Maze a soundtrack for family reunions, cookouts, celebrations and gatherings across generations. From the songs audiences know by heart to the feeling of community that surrounds the music, the evening is designed to be more than a concert — it is a celebration of memories.

Rodney Humphrey and Friends will take the stage to bring that musical legacy to life, while Mike Bonner hosts the evening with his unmistakable Detroit personality and humor.

Curated and produced by Sky Covington, the concert continues the mission of Sky Covington’s Preservation of Jazz: honoring legendary music and the artists who created it while presenting those legacies to today's audiences through live performance.
