Paula Boggs Band

BIO

Starbucks refugee Boggs and band traverse jazz, world, rock and Americana.  They released debut CD "A Buddha State of Mind" in 2010 and album "Carnival of Miracles," produced by Grammy-winning Trina Shoemaker in March 2015.  Their sound is "soulgrass," it's always about "the message" and the band performs nationally.

Ted Nagy Album Release

Ted Nagy CD Release Party/ November 12th 7 pm / Jazz Cafe

(Detroit, MI)  Longtime local singer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist Ted Nagy has a new CD of original material that he will perform with his Trio at Jazz Cafe, November 12th at 7PM at the finest little room in Detroit, Jazz Cafe inside Music Hall.

Ted Nagy’s new CD, entitled, “That’s What Made Me Famous” is a personal trip into the Blues, Americana and a little Jazz to spice up the tunes.

Nagy composes and plays guitar, piano, keys, or whatever he may have in front of him at the time, “I sing the songs I have in my head and sometimes, hopefully, in my heart.”

The Ted Nagy Trio are:

Ted Nagy – Guitar/Piano & Vocals

Eric Childress – Drums

Jonathane Leavell – Bass

Ted Nagy takes a well-rounded approach to his songwriting; he studied Jazz at Wayne State University as well as Creative Writing and continues to combine the two in all of his endeavors. As songwriter, composer, guitarist, musical director, vocalist and producer for several musical projects, Nagy has performed with notable artists such as M.L. Liebler, Arlo Guthrie, Steve King, Ken Kesey, Luis Resto, John Sinclair, Country Joe McDonald and countless others.

He has been one of the Artist Relations Directors of the Detroit International Jazz Festival.

He is currently (and for sometime now) Programming Director of Jazz Cafe at  Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts where he strives to enlist the variety of Detroit's finest local, national and international artists of all genres." Ted has recorded and produced a number of albums and other recordings including “Paper Ghost Raindance”, “Beneath The Grand Heaven”, “Live at Junkbaby Studios”, and have been featured on the Motown Ambassadors release of “Detroit City”, which can now be heard on http://eamtradio.com/

Key Expressions Production presents Detroit Comics Unleashed Part 2 @ the Music Hall Jazz Cafe featuring some of the hottest comedians in the "D" staring: comedian Bill Hill, he appeared on Def Comedy Jam and the Robert Townsend show and he's internationally known all across the world as one of the hottest comics in the game. Also featuring Detroit's own Josh Adams, he's young fresh and will have you crying laughing!! Also representing the ladies we have Melanie J. She is on fire!!!! She's at the top of her game.
