Sam "Trump" Harris is a trumpeter and singer/songwriter from Houston, TX, and has been a student of music for over 20 years. Now residing in Chicago, he is currently touring full-time with live HipHop/Jazz/Soul band, Sidewalk Chalk, and spends most of his downtime promoting his solo work.

Trump is very active on the local scene and has been highlighted at several artist features and radio shows throughout Chicago, and has also become a staple at some of the city's premier venues such as The Promontory, The California Clipper, Untitled, and Refuge Live!

You might have seen him through one of his residencies with the Soul Vortet, where he melds neo-soul with jazz fusion. Or you may have caught his full 9-piece soul group, Sam Trump Live, with a full rhythm section and horns! Or maybe you've seen him performing around Chicago on ukulele with his acoustic sextet,  Acoustic Audile. Regardless of where you've experienced Sam Trump, his consistent performance schedule, and charismatic way of setting the stage in any space has lead him to becoming a household name within the Chicago scene.

Sam Trump has an array of collaborative works and has released solo works over the years as well. Most recently, he's premiered a music video for a new single entitled "Brother", which promotes peace, love and coexistence within the black community. This video has gotten critical acclamations as it soared passed 100k views in its first week!

Throughout his original music, Trump wants to remain innovative, but also convey a preservation of down-home soul. Trump plans to remain a professional educator and continue to write, perform, and expand as a musical creator.
